On my short jaunt down to Norfolk I drove by a few of my old college haunts just to see what’s standing.
Campaign Headquarters – No More
Campaign Headquarters Games and Hobbies (CHQ), where many a dollar I spent buying books, dice, and other sundry RPG paraphernalia, is no more. It apparently when out of business early this year to be reborn with a new owner as Atlantis Comics and Games. The new place is much cleaner and spare and focuses more on computer RPGS. While I miss the old CHQ, with its dusty interior and congeries of ancient gaming texts (Villains and Vigilantes anyone?), I’m glad to see the torch being carried into the future.
Futures – Still going strong
And speaking of the future, Futures Antiques is still going quite strong. I dropped in for a few minutes to chat with owner Ronn Ives about his wares and his blog. Ronn has been there for 20 years now and assured me he has no intention of moving any time soon.
