Playing Catchup

I’ve had so much to write about and scant time to do so. The band’s drummer, Peter, dropped out of the next show and I’ve been scrambling like mad to salvage it. Ableton Live to the rescue once more.

Quick takes on the thing I wish I had time to expound upon:

Last Day at Z-Tech (for now) – Last Wednesday was my last day at Z-Tech for a while and maybe forever. I know a lot of people who gripe about the place, but it was always good to me and in many ways I’ll miss it.

Last Online Course for CSAP – One of the reasons for it being my last day at Z-Tech was the end on the Online Courses contract. The last course I’ll ever do for them should go live any day now.

Derek’s Party – Last Saturday Will and I attended Derek’s party at DC 9. What a great time! I really didn’t expect to have as much fun as we did. Derek get’s high marks on event planning. It was also good to drive home a nice pair of local guys Tommy and Russ and spare them from the metro on a cold night. I also enjoyed watching the Metrosexuals. Their performance cemented my resolve to add a keyboard player to the Mesmers.

Celebrity Deaths – Odd how celebrity really do seem to die in sets of three. The news is all abuzz about the passing of Don Knotts and Dennis Weaver but I’ll be missing Darren McGavin. What a character! I’d just finished watching the Kolchak the Night Stalker DVD set and it’s amazing how good he was.
