Sadly things didn’t work out for the two turtle doves nesting on our window. Some evil third bird that I never got a good look at started stealing their eggs from the nest (I suspect the woodpecker out back). They spent about a week fighting it off, but eventually it got the best of them. It was sad to watch them pacing back and forth on the ledge looking into their empty nest.
A few days later a different pair of doves moved into the nest, laid a few eggs, and suffered a similar fate. After they left the nest somehow got knocked to the ground. Probably for the best.
