Hookah has been steadily pushing forward. We have 10 songs pretty much set and can run thru 9 of them with out too much fumbling. We’ve got the band room refurbished and sounding pretty good, and are even beginning to play with a click track. My only complaint has been that since our producer Steve took over the bass playing I’ve been bored out of my mind. My old Hookah lines were cool to listen to, but utterly dull to play.
We have chosen October or November as the tentative months to go into the studio and actually record the album. It would be great to get it done sooner, but everyone disappears for Pennsic in August and Jay has wedding plans in September.
Speaking of August, I’ll be doing some disappearing of my own. I’m pretty much taking the month off from everything to finish writing some tunes and work on arrangements for the Hookah album. I won’t be going into work, I won’t be answering email, and I probably won’t be updating this site at all.
